Quinta Studio 1:48 Blue rib tapes for the Fokker Dr.I / D.VII are a set of colored 3D decals that faithfully reproduce the doped fabric tapes over the ribs on the wing covering.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit but a set of colored 3D decals from Quinta Studio in 1:48 scale. It reproduces the characteristic fabric tapes which in the First World War were glued and doped over the ribs of the covering on wings and control surfaces. The tapes have fine raised relief and a blue shade, so on a finished covering they create a convincing impression of stitched and doped fabric. The set is universal and suits models of the Fokker Dr.I triplane as well as the Fokker D.VII biplane.
The Fokker Dr.I and D.VII fighters were among the best known German aircraft of the end of the First World War. Their wings and fuselage carried fabric covering stretched over a wooden frame; reinforcing tapes were glued over the individual ribs, and these are clearly visible on the real machines and give the surface its typical texture.
The 3D decals are noticeably thicker than ordinary ones. Trim the parts, transfer them onto a well dried gloss surface and fix them with thin PVA glue or with a special adhesive for metal foils. Work tape by tape, let each one settle and fix, and only then move on to weathering.
This is an accessory for a model, not the kit itself. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
