This resin detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard brings precisely cast turbochargers for a model of the Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress bomber in 1:48 scale. On the B-17 the turbochargers sat on the underside of the engine nacelles and are clearly visible on the model. It is not an aircraft kit but an aftermarket accessory that replaces the basic plastic parts.
Resin castings offer finer detail and crisper edges than standard plastic. Replacing the parts raises the fidelity of the powerplant, which will be appreciated above all by modelers building a B-17F with the nacelles opened up or clearly visible.
First wash the mold release residue off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the edges with respiratory protection. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting for good adhesion.
The accessory does not include the kit or paints. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
