A sheet of waterslide decals in 1:48 scale devoted to the British twin-engined Bristol Blenheim in the Mk.I and Mk.IF versions. The package contains only the decal sheet; it is an accessory for marking a model that is already built and painted.
The Blenheim was an all-metal twin-engined monoplane with a short glazed nose, brought into service in the second half of the 1930s as a fast light bomber. The Mk.IF version came about by converting it into a two-seat fighter with gun armament slung under the fuselage, and it was used among other things for night patrols. The two forms differ from one another in details of equipment and in the way they were used, and so in their markings as well.
With sheets that have lain in a collection for some time it pays to check their condition before building. Older decals have a more brittle carrier membrane that cracks while soaking, and the adhesive loses its strength. It helps to spray the whole sheet with a thin coat of clear gloss varnish, let it dry and then cut the individual markings out close to the outline; the varnish strengthens the membrane and keeps it in one piece. On the model such a decal then settles normally, only count on a slightly thicker border and use a softener.
This is a standalone decal sheet. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
