The Swedish Viggen has a large hinged canopy, along with big wheels with prominent hubs and several position lights whose clear covers are the hardest of all to mask. One sheet in this package covers all three groups of elements at once, so there is nothing else to buy.
The Viggen came about to a Swedish requirement for an aircraft able to operate from stretches of road and from short dispersed strips. Hence its double delta with a canard foreplane and the thrust reverser that shortens the run after touchdown. It was built in strike, reconnaissance, training and fighter versions and served in the Swedish Air Force from the 1970s until the start of the new millennium.
The lights are masked last. First finish the glazing and the wheels, and only then lay the small discs on the light covers and press them down with a fingernail through a piece of paper, so that no mark is left on the clear part. It is advisable to spray the cockpit with the interior color first and only then with the outer shade, so that the frame looks right from the inside as well.
The wheels are easier to spray when the hub is separated from the tire by a mask rather than freehand with a brush. The delivery holds neither the aircraft nor the paints.
