A set of color interior elements for a model of the CH-47D helicopter in 1:48 scale. The elements are printed, with three-dimensional relief and a color print, so that the panels and instruments look articulated even without painting small details. The form is prepared for the Italeri kit, so the shapes and dimensions are based on that model. The range of the set and the placing of the elements are given in the enclosed instructions.
The elements are printed on backing decal paper and have no adhesive layer of their own. Cut the part out of the sheet, dip it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and then slide it off the paper into place. It holds reliably on a gloss clear coat, so paint the surface first, let it dry completely and coat it with a gloss clear coat of the Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22 type; on an intricate surface a drop of cyanoacrylate helps. Do not use a decal softener or a setting solution: their chemistry will attack the printed resin. Under an element no painting is possible any more, so plan the painting ahead. Check the position from the side, so that the element lies over its whole area. Finish the interior before you close the fuselage up and fit the glazing.
The CH-47 is a heavy transport helicopter with a tandem arrangement of two main rotors and a rear loading ramp. The D version is the updated form of the family and differs from the older machines among other things in its cabin fittings. That is exactly why the interior cannot be swapped between versions and it pays to choose the set according to the particular form.
The set suits modelers who are building the CH-47D in 1:48 scale and want a legible cabin without the labor of painting with a brush. It is an accessory for a kit, so the model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
