1:48 Consolidated B-24J Liberator is a photo-etched metal set from Eduard that refines the detail of a model of the four-engine bomber in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory in photo-etched metal, not an aircraft kit. The metal parts replace or supplement plastic elements that are simplified in shape, and they bring to the model fine edges and surface textures that cannot be achieved in injection-molded plastic. The maker is the Czech firm Eduard of Obrnice near Most.
The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was among the most numerously built American bombers of the Second World War. Its identifying features were the slender Davis wing, the twin vertical tails and four Pratt and Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp radial engines. The B-24J version received a nose turret and modified equipment for precision bombing; it served over Europe and in the Pacific, and you can tell it from the earlier versions precisely by the shape of the nose.
Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, not by twisting. Make the bends over a metal rule or in a bender so that the edge stays straight. Degrease the metal before painting and put a primer coat on it, otherwise the paint will hold poorly. Cyanoacrylate glue metered out with a stick in vanishing drops suits for fixing them.
