The forward part of the Hercules has a characteristic rounded shape with an antenna fairing under the cockpit. The accessory concentrates on exactly this area and offers it more accurately than is usual from the basic molding. The exact contents of the package are not stated here.
The gunship conversion of the Hercules kept the airframe of the transport aircraft, including the high-mounted wing and the roomy flight deck. For working at night and in poor visibility the sensor equipment was crucial, and part of it is the antenna in the forward part of the fuselage. It is precisely the fairings and bulges carrying this equipment that set the individual variants apart, and modelers take them as an important identifying mark of a particular machine.
The rounded shape of the nose is hard to sand, so work with a soft backing under the abrasive paper that follows the curve. You will reveal unevenness by brushing a thin coat of primer over the part and looking at it under sharp side lighting. Apply filler in small amounts. Antenna fairings tend to be set apart in shade, so mask the boundary and spray in fine coats so that the transition stays free of a noticeable edge.
