This is a diorama accessory, that is, scenery for a scene, not a model of a vehicle. The package holds two pieces of a disposable shipping pallet in 1:48 scale. The accessory is made by the Czech brand Hauler, which has long devoted itself to photo-etched and resin accessories for modelers, and it suits figures and equipment in the same scale.
Disposable pallets differ from returnable ones in a lighter and cheaper construction: thinner boards, a lower load capacity and the assumption of a single journey to the end recipient. In a diorama they are rewarding precisely because they are allowed to be worn. A cracked board, a broken-off corner or a crookedly stacked heap looks more natural than a perfectly straight row. Two pieces in the package let you stand one pallet loaded and the other leaning against a wall or set aside flat, which sets the scene in motion at once.
First separate the parts carefully and clean them up. Resin castings should also be washed in lukewarm water with detergent, so that no mold release agent stays on the surface and the paint holds. Once they have dried, apply a thin primer. Wood is well built up on a light ocher to gray-beige base, over which comes a brown wash running into the seams between the boards and then drybrushing in a lighter shade, which pulls out the edges. Add dust and mud with pigments at the very end and only where they would realistically get, that is, at the lower edges and into the corners. Always settle a pallet into the base rather than merely standing it on it, so that it does not hang in the air.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
