A set for covering the glazed nose and cockpit of the Dornier Do 17Z bomber in 1:48. According to the manufacturer's description the masking is from the outer side.
Responsibility details are not available.
The slim fuselage earned the Dornier Do 17 the nickname flying pencil. The Z version, though, shared little with the elegant original design: the nose was given a bulged, completely glazed cockpit into which the four-man crew fitted together, and beneath it a gondola with a defensive gun position arose.
During the Battle of Britain the Do 17Z, together with Heinkels and Junkers, formed the backbone of the daylight formations. It turned out at the same time that they had a small bomb load and insufficient range, so the Luftwaffe gradually withdrew them to night operations, to towing gliders and to secondary battlefields. A few machines flew out their lives in Finnish and Croatian colors; one recovered from the English Channel is a rare museum exhibit today.
The glazed nose of this subject is the most demanding place on the whole airframe for a modeler. There are many panes, they are small and they lie at various angles, so tape cut by eye forms puckers on the curves. The die-cut parts from the set seat on the individual fields and the frames stay equally wide along their whole length. The stated contents speak of covering the outer side, so the inner frames are best dealt with by your own means or left in the interior color.
