Responsibility details are not available.
This die-cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:48 scale is meant for a plastic model of the German twin-engine Dornier Do 217 bomber in the E version. It is not a kit or a model in its own right but a set of precisely shaped masks in thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). The masks will be appreciated by modelers who want sharp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage fields without slow hand-cutting of tape.
The Dornier Do 217 is a German twin-engine bomber of the Second World War, developed from the smaller Do 17. The E version was a conventional bomber with an extensively glazed nose that gave the crew a good view. Besides conventional bombing the machine was also used to carry glide bombs and guided bombs. It is exactly the large amount of glazing that makes masking the cockpit the most demanding part of painting.
Degrease the extensive nose glazing thoroughly. Lift the masks off the backing and lay them systematically on the individual panes, working field by field and pressing them into the edges. Fine-tune the transitions with a strip of tape. Spray the paint with an airbrush in thin layers. The wheel masks separate the tire from the rim. Once the paint has dried, peel them off carefully at an acute angle.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
