A set of precisely cut self-adhesive masks of kabuki tape aimed at the underwing stores and tanks of the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk attack airplane in the A-4E, A-4F and A-4M versions in 1:48 scale. Unlike the BASIC and EXPERT sets, it does not deal with the canopy glazing but with masking the colored bands, markings and panels on the bombs, rocket pods and drop tanks. It is not a kit or the stores themselves, but an aid to painting them accurately.
Underwing munitions tend to be decorated with narrow colored bands and panels, which are hard to mask freehand. Cut masks make it possible to create sharp transitions and uniform bands on every piece of the stores.
First spray the parts with the base color, then once it has dried lay the masks on and add the bands or panels. Press the masks down carefully so that no paint runs under, and apply thin coats. The set goes well with the glazing masks from the BASIC or EXPERT version.
This is a masking set, not a model or the stores themselves. The paints, the glue and the kit are not included in the package.
