A set of photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not a kit of an airplane but an accessory aimed at the outer surface of the airframe. It is intended for models of the carrier-based EKA-3 Skywarrior aircraft.
The Douglas A-3 Skywarrior was a large American carrier-based aircraft of the US Navy, developed originally as a heavy carrier bomber. The EKA-3B version derived from it worked as an airborne tanker and carried equipment for electronic warfare. Thanks to its size it was among the largest machines regularly operating from the decks of aircraft carriers.
The parts are separated with a sharp knife, bent over an edge or in a bending tool and glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with varnish. On a large airframe the detail of the skin, the panels and the small elements stands out once shaded with a wash. Degrease the metal faces before the clear coat.
The accessory comes as a separate photo-etched set. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
