Self-adhesive masks for spraying the national insignia and markings of the F-100C/D Super Sabre aircraft in 1:48 scale. Cut for the Trumpeter and Monogram kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The North American F-100 Super Sabre was an American supersonic aircraft of the 1950s, which in the course of time became above all a fighter-bomber. It stayed in service for a long time and was deployed in Southeast Asia as well. The C and D versions differed in equipment and armament, and both remained single-seat.
The set serves for spraying the national insignia and further markings instead of decals. According to the name it is cut for the Trumpeter and Monogram kits in 1:48 scale; with another kit, check beforehand whether the shapes and the spacing fit your part.
First wash the surface under the mask, degrease it and let it dry. Apply the mask to a finished colored base before spraying the insignia and press the edges down carefully so that paint does not run under them. Spray several thin coats and let them set; a single heavy coat spreads under the edge. Multicolored insignia are sprayed coat by coat, and the order of the steps is in the manufacturer's instructions. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, pulling at a slight angle to the surface.
The set will be appreciated by modelers who dislike decal silvering, as well as by those building a machine with a worn finish, where the insignia should be part of the paint. Working with masks is slower than with decals, but the result looks like a genuine sprayed finish. This is an accessory: the kit, paints and glue are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
