1:48 F-102A Delta Dagger, stencils for the canopy of the first supersonic delta-winged interceptor of the American air defense.
Responsibility details are not available.
Painting stencils cut to the clear parts of the F-102A. They follow the lines of the frames exactly, so the spraying gets a sharp edge even where a frame breaks or runs into a curve. The name of the item gives which kit they are intended for.
The F-102A was the first supersonic machine with a triangular wing to reach combat units. The prototype originally could not exceed the speed of sound and only a rebuild of the fuselage according to the area rule helped, after which it received the characteristic waisting at the midsection. It carried its armament internally, in a weapons bay under the fuselage, and an onboard fire-control system guided it. The machines patrolled over North America, served in Europe and in Southeast Asia and finished their service with the squadrons of the National Guard.
It suits anyone who is building an interceptor with a long cockpit and does not want to spend an evening cutting strips with a scalpel. The result is the same on both sides of the model, which with masking by hand can hardly be guaranteed. The stencils also help to keep the clear surface free of fingerprints, because it is handled less.
