Eduard 1:48 F-104A SPACE is a set of three-dimensional 3D decals for the cockpit of a Starfighter model in the F-104A version in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set from the SPACE range by the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the Lockheed F-104A in 1:48 scale. These are decals with a layered, cured top surface: the panels have real depth, the dials have domed glass and the color finish is done from the factory. It is applied in the same way as a decal. For the later F-104C version there is a separate set, so take care over which one your kit needs.
The cockpit of the early interceptor Starfighter has a densely populated instrument panel and side consoles, which plastic can manage only as a shallow relief. A three-dimensional decal will replace them with a sharp, color-finished surface with depth, and that without bending metal and without cyanoacrylate glue. In terms of time it is the quickest route to a faithful cockpit.
The surface underneath has to be smooth and glossy, otherwise a silvery edge will appear. The plastic relief under the decal is as a rule sanded smooth, so that the panel sits down flat. Wet only the carrier paper with a sponge and a drop of detergent, lift the element off with tweezers and fix it with white dispersion glue. A decal softener and a setting solution do not belong here, as they would attack the printed resin; a thicker layer reacts differently from an ordinary decal. Do not repaint the finished panels; at most add the sheen of the dials with a drop of clear varnish.
It is an accessory set, not a model of the aircraft. The kit, paints and varnishes are not included in the package.
