A clear canopy for a model of the Fw 190A fighter in 1:72 scale. A replacement for the thick-walled part from an ordinary kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fw 190A is the series of versions of the German single-engine fighter of the Second World War. The pilot sat under a sliding canopy with fairly clean glazing and a good view to the sides, so the cockpit is clearly visible on a model and working it up pays off. And the thin, clear canopy is precisely the part where an ordinary kit tends to be weakest.
This is a standalone clear canopy for a model of the Fw 190A in 1:72 scale. The thin wall and the clean molding let the inside of the cockpit really be seen once the model is finished, which is not the case with the thicker part from the kit. The number of pieces in the package, the material and the kit the part is cut for are given in the manufacturer's description and instructions, so check that they match before buying.
Separate the part from the surplus material with a sharp blade a little away from the outline and gradually sand the edge flat on fine abrasive paper laid on a flat board. Keep trying the fit dry so that you do not sand the canopy too far. Finish and paint the cockpit before gluing, because afterwards you will not get at it. Glue with a glue intended for clear parts; ordinary cyanoacrylate can fog a clear surface. The frames are most easily painted through masks, and protect the clear area from sanding and from fingerprints.
The part is an accessory for a kit that you build yourself. Paints, glue, masks and thinners are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
