A resin detail part, not an airplane kit. This finely cast resin set from Quickboost (Aires) brings the small air scoops of the American supersonic Republic F-105 Thunderchief fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale. These are the little intake scoops on the fuselage that feed cooling air to the systems of the aircraft. The casting replaces them with crisply shaped parts with the opening suggested, something that is hard to achieve in plastic.
Small scoops are a detail that disappears at first glance, but from close up they contribute a great deal to how accurate the fuselage surface looks. The plastic parts from the box tend to be blunt, with a solid, merely suggested mouth. The resin scoops have a clean shape and an open or suggested opening, so the surface of the aircraft looks technically exact.
