This set contains accurate self-adhesive New Ware painting masks for a model of the American Convair F-106B Delta Dart interceptor in 1:48 scale. It is not a model but an aid that makes a clean coat on the cockpit glazing and further features easier. The masks are laser-cut from fine washi (rice paper) tape, follow the shapes of the canopy frames exactly and lift off with no adhesive residue once the painting is done.
The Convair F-106 Delta Dart was an American supersonic interceptor with a delta wing, for many years the backbone of the air defense of the United States. The F-106B version was a two-seater with a tandem cockpit, used for training and for combat duties. The extended glazing of the two-seat version makes greater demands on masking.
First paint the glazing in the frame color, then in the exterior color. Transfer the masks carefully, press them down along the frames and lift them once the paint is dry. The inner surfaces of the glazing stay clean. The masks are single-use.
These are painting masks, not a model. Paints, a kit and glue are not included in the package.
