This plastic kit from Hobby Boss captures the Grumman F-14B Tomcat carrier fighter in 1:48 scale. The box holds plastic molded in gray and in clear, a detailed cockpit and landing gear and a decal sheet. The wings can be built in the spread as well as the swept position, and the canopy and further service covers can be opened too.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was a two-seat carrier fighter with a variable-geometry wing, used by the US Navy to defend ship formations and to gain air superiority. The F-14B version received more powerful General Electric engines and modernized avionics compared with the original F-14A. It carried air-to-air guided missiles of short as well as long range.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife, glue them with liquid cement for plastic and sand the joints down. For overall gray camouflage schemes an airbrush proves its worth, and a gloss clear coat before the decals will prevent silvering. You will bring out the panel lines with a thin wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
