A detail cockpit set for the Grumman F-14D Super Tomcat carrier-based aircraft in 1:48 scale from Aires. The resin accessory replaces the interior of the tandem cockpit from a plastic kit with a faithfully detailed assembly: two cockpit tubs, instrument panels with the modernized avionics, side consoles and seats.
The F-14D was the late, modernized version of the two-seat carrier-based fighter with a variable-geometry wing. Compared with the older versions it received new engines, digital avionics and reworked cockpit equipment. It served in the defense of aircraft carriers and in multirole tasks.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Use respiratory protection while sanding. Both cockpits come into their own once painted and the details picked out gently with a wash.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
