A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks intended for painting a model of the two-seat machine in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit and not a part of a model, but an aid thanks to which edges and frames come out sharp without cutting tape by hand. The manufacturer is the Czech brand Eduard.
Compared with the single-seater, the D version has a considerably longer canopy and a second station beneath it. The glazing is so long and so smoothly shaped that every inaccuracy shows at once — tape cut by hand cannot be laid evenly along a long curve, and the frame comes out wider in one place and narrower in another. A pre-cut mask removes that problem, because the shape is given by the die. Blocks 30, 40 and 50 share the General Electric F110 powerplant but differ in equipment and airframe details; the set is intended for all three.
Degrease the clear part before applying and let it dry. Lift the masks from the sheet with tweezers or the tip of a scalpel and lay them down one edge first. Once applied, press the edges down and paint in thin coats. For the same type Eduard also offers a variant designated TFace, which adds masks for the inside of the glazing; reach for that one if you want to spray the insides of the frames as well.
