This resin set from Aires in 1:48 scale adds a faithfully cast electronics bay of the McDonnell Douglas F-4B Phantom II to a kit. It is not an airplane model in its own right but a detail accessory meant to improve the plastic kit of the matching version. The set lets you show the avionics compartment open with rich internal detail that plastic molds usually cannot offer.
The F-4B was an early carrier version of the two-seat, twin-engine Phantom II fighter, used chiefly by the US Navy. The aircraft was marked by enormous power, upturned outer wing panels and a characteristic drooping tailplane. The electronics bay housed part of the avionics, and the access panels leading to it were among the typical features modelers like to show open.
First wash the parts to remove any mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks carefully and sand with your airways protected. Bond the resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before gluing it in, check the fit against the fuselage of the kit and adjust the opening for the open panel if need be. Bring the interior out with a fine wash and a dry brush.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
