1:48 F-4E Phantom reinforcement straps and formation lights is a photo-etched accessory that adds the external fuselage reinforcement straps and formation lights to a model of the F-4E fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a photo-etched detail accessory in 1:48 scale, not a standalone model. The set contains fine metal parts that add the distinctive external reinforcement straps on the fuselage and the wing and the small formation lights to a finished kit of the F-4E Phantom II fighter-bomber. It is exactly these details that give late Phantoms their typical surface, and they usually cannot be rendered faithfully in plastic.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II was a two-seat supersonic fighter-bomber of the Cold War, used by the US Air Force and by a number of allies. The E version differed from the older modifications in its built-in cannon and in a series of strengthening elements of the airframe; the formation lights made flying in close formation easier in reduced visibility.
Separate the parts from the fret carefully and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. The thin straps can be shaped slightly before being applied so that they follow the rounded surfaces of the fuselage. The formation lights come out after painting and light accenting with color. Work with a sharp knife and tweezers.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
