The mask set 1:48 F-4G Phantom from the Czech manufacturer Eduard serves to mask the glazing of a model of the Phantom in the F-4G Wild Weasel version in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A basic mask set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the McDonnell Douglas F-4G Phantom II in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The masks are stuck directly onto the clear part, follow the frames and take the place of cutting masking tape with a knife, which on the tandem cockpit of the Phantom takes a great deal of time.
How the set differs from the other masks for the same aircraft
Eduard offers several separate mask sets for the F-4G in this scale. This one is the basic one and masks the glazing from one side. Beside it there is a version designated TFace, which allows for masking from the outside as well as the inside, and a separate set for the surface panels of the airframe. Choose the matching variant according to how far you want to go in the painting.
The F-4G Wild Weasel is a specialized version of the Phantom intended to find and destroy the radars of air defenses. It came about by converting F-4E machines, and in place of the internal cannon it carried electronics for locating emitting radars. It was deployed among other places in operations in the Middle East.
Degrease the part before sticking the masks on, lay them with tweezers and press them down with a toothpick, above all in the corners of the frames. Spray thin coats perpendicular to the edge of the mask. With the gray schemes of modern aircraft count on more passes, otherwise a ridge forms at the edge. Lift the masks off shortly after the paint has dried.
The mask set is an accessory for a model; the model itself and paints are not included in the package.
