The mask set 1:48 F-4G Phantom TFace from the Czech manufacturer Eduard makes it possible to mask the glazing of a model of the Phantom in the F-4G version from the outside as well as the inside, in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A mask set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the F-4G Phantom II in 1:48 scale in the TFace version. It is an accessory for a model, not a kit.
What the TFace designation means
TFace is Eduard's designation for masks that deal with both sides of the glazing. Besides the outer masks they also hold counterparts for the inner side, so the frames of the canopy can be sprayed in the interior shade from inside and in the airframe color from outside. On the Phantom, with its tandem cockpit and large area of glazing, the inner side of the frames is clearly visible, above all when you leave the canopy open and show the cockpit. The basic single-sided set for the same aircraft does not offer this possibility.
The F-4G Wild Weasel is a version of the Phantom adapted to find and destroy ground radars. Its crew consists of a pilot and a systems operator, so the cockpit is a two-seat tandem arrangement and the canopies open separately.
Work in order from the inside out. First stick the inner masks on and spray the interior shade of the frames, let it dry, then mask from the outside and paint the airframe. Lay the inner masks carefully with tweezers, as fingerprints on the inner side of the glazing are hard to clean. Once the painting is finished, lift the masks off shortly after the paint has dried.
The mask set is an accessory for a model; the model itself and paints are not included in the package.
