1:48 F-5F/RF-5E Tiger II nose counterweight from the Aires/Quickboost brand. The shaped weight keeps the nose of a model down, so a finished Tiger II will not sit back on its tail.
Responsibility details are not available.
This accessory from the Aires/Quickboost brand deals with a typical trouble of the slim machines of the Tiger II family: a finished model likes to sit back on its tail unless you add weight in the nose. The shaped counterweight drops into the forward fuselage area, shifts the center of gravity ahead of the main landing gear, and the aircraft then stands on all three legs as it should. It is not a standalone model of an aircraft but an accessory for a kit in 1:48 scale.
The Northrop F-5F is the two-seat combat trainer version of the successful light F-5E Tiger II fighter, lengthened to take a second pilot's station. The reconnaissance RF-5E carries windows for cameras in a modified nose. Both types flew with a number of air forces from Asia through the Middle East to Europe and, thanks to their undemanding operation, stayed in service for long decades.
Try the weight dry before you glue the fuselage halves together, and check that it does not get in the way of the cockpit tub or the nose gear bay. Cyanoacrylate or a two-part epoxy suits for fixing it, as ordinary cement for polystyrene does not hold reliably on a heavy part. Finally check the balance with the landing gear fitted: done correctly, the model should return to its nose leg by itself.
