Eduard 1:48 F-80 landing flaps is a photo-etched set of landing flaps for the model of the Lockheed F-80 Shooting Star jet fighter. The model itself is not included in the package.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched landing flaps from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for the model of the American jet fighter Lockheed F-80 Shooting Star in 1:48 scale. The photo-etched metal flaps let the high-lift devices be shown in a realistic lowered position with a faithful inner structure, which plastic cannot manage as thin. It is not a model of an airplane but a detail accessory; the basic kit has to be bought separately.
The Lockheed F-80 Shooting Star was the first American jet fighter taken into operational service on a wider scale. It served at the end of the 1940s and saw combat in the Korean War, where it took part in one of the first dogfights between purely jet-powered aircraft.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp knife and clean up the cut faces. Use a bending tool or a straight edge for the bends. Glue the photo-etched parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and set the flaps at a lowered angle to match the real thing.
This is a detail accessory, not a model. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
