This item is not a kit or a paint but a set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the glazing of a model of the American carrier fighter F4U-1D Corsair in 1:48 scale. Eduard uses the TFace designation for sets that cover the glazing from both sides, that is from the outside and from the inside. On the F4U-1D version with its one-piece canopy that makes practical sense: the frame is visible from both sides, and with the canopy open an inside painted in the exterior color would look distracting. The masks are peeled off the sheet and stuck straight onto the part. Check the number of masks and the extent of the set on the box.
The cockpit frames are among the places where hand masking with tape most often fails. Pre-cut masks hold the shape of the frame, do not crease on curves and allow a crisp edge to be sprayed without laborious cutting. The inner part of the set also makes it possible to paint the frame from the inside in the interior color.
For modelers who build the Corsair in 1:48 scale and want clean cockpit frames without cutting tape by hand. The inner masks will be appreciated above all by those who build a model with the canopy open, because there the inner side of the frame is clearly visible.
