This injection-molded plastic kit from Hobby Boss captures a late development version of the Corsair fighter aircraft, the night variant F4U-5N in its early form. The model has an engraved surface structure, a richly detailed radial engine and a broken-up cockpit interior.
The F4U-5 was one of the last propeller versions of the Corsair of the US Navy, with an extended nose for a more powerful turbocharged engine. The night variant F4U-5N carried a radar on the wing and served for night and all-weather duties in the postwar period and in the Korean War.
Finish the cockpit and the engine before closing the fuselage; the engine can be displayed under an open cowling as a detail. Liquid cement for plastic, a primer and an airbrush are recommended. Bring dark night schemes to life with fine shading of the panels.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
