A resin detail engine in 1:48 scale from the maker Aires, the Quickboost line. It is not a kit of the airplane but an accessory that replaces the simpler plastic powerplant with a faithful resin replica of the radial engine, with the cylinders and the plumbing drawn out. The part is meant to be built into a matching plastic model, above all when it is shown with the engine cowling open.
The Vought F4U-7 Corsair was the last production version of the famous carrier fighter with the inverted gull wing. It was built for French naval aviation and was committed to action for a number of years after the Second World War. It was powered by the potent Pratt and Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial engine, typical of the whole Corsair family.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and glue them with super glue. Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The engine comes into its own in metallic shades; pick the plumbing and the wiring out with a fine brush and deepen the whole with a dark wash. Dry-fit it before you close the cowling.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
