A resin conversion set that makes it possible to rebuild a model of the Grumman F6F Hellcat carrier fighter in 1:48 scale into the F6F-5N night variant. It is a detail accessory for a base kit, not a stand-alone model. The key item is the radar housing on the leading edge of the right wing; the set usually rounds out small antennas and related parts as well.
The F6F-5N was the night fighter version of the later F6F-5 Hellcat of the Second World War, fitted with an airborne radar in an aerodynamic housing on the right wing. It was committed to night duties and to operations in reduced visibility.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue, separate them from the casting blocks and glue them with super glue. Seat the radar housing carefully and sand the transition to the wing with respiratory protection. Check the fit on the particular kit before gluing.
This is a resin conversion accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
