Eduard Fw 190D masks 1:48 is a die-cut self-adhesive masking set for a model of the German Fw 190D fighter. It gives crisp color edges on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage. It is not a model but a masking aid.
Responsibility details are not available.
This die-cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:48 scale is intended for a plastic model of the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190D fighter. It is neither a kit nor a standalone model but a set of precisely shaped masks in thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). The masks will be appreciated by modelers who want crisp color edges on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage fields without the slow job of cutting tape by hand.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190D, nicknamed Dora, is a German fighter from the end of the Second World War. Unlike the radial-engined versions of the Fw 190 it received the liquid-cooled inverted V12 Jumo 213 engine, which gave it a long nose and a longer fuselage. In high-altitude performance it ranked among the best German piston fighters and it was used in the defense of German airspace.
Clean and degrease the canopy glazing. Lift the masks off the backing, lay them on the canopy frames, press them into the edges and fill small cut-outs with a strip of tape. Spray the color with an airbrush in two thin coats. The wheel masks separate the tire from the rim. Once the paint has dried, peel the masks off carefully. The set also makes it easier to lay out the crisp edges of the camouflage fields typical of late German machines.
The package contains masks only. The model, the paints, the glue and the decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
