An Eduard photo-etched detail set in 1:48 scale, intended for sharpening up a plastic model of the American carrier-based Grumman F6F-5N Hellcat night fighter. The photo-etched parts raise the level of detail of the base kit; this is not an airplane model but an accessory.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was an American carrier-based fighter, one of the most successful navy machines in the Pacific during the Second World War. The F6F-5N version was the night fighter variant fitted with a radar in a pod on the leading edge of the wing, which made interceptions possible in poor visibility and at night. The sturdy single-engined machine was powered by a strong radial engine.
The photo-etched parts suit the fine items of the interior and the exterior that plastic cannot be shaped thinly enough for. Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a cutting surface, bend them on a bending tool and glue them with super glue; apply any colored faces onto a degreased surface.
This is an accessory photo-etched set, not a model in its own right. It calls for the matching base kit, which is not included in the package.
