1:48 IA 58 Pucará maintenance cover is a resin detail accessory from Quickboost that replaces the simplified service cover on a model of the FMA IA-58 Pucará attack aircraft. It is not a kit of an aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item from the Quickboost range, which is made by the Czech studio Aires, is a casting in modeling resin intended to be swapped in for the corresponding part of a plastic kit of the FMA IA-58 Pucará attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. The package does not contain a model of the aircraft or its main parts; it is a replacement detail that goes into a part-built model in place of the molded part.
Cast resin holds crisper edges, finer engraving and thinner walls than injection-molded plastic, so the service cover looks more convincing from close up. The exact identification of the panel and its position on the airframe is not stated here, and neither is the target kit; accessories of this type tend to be cut for one particular kit, so compare the shape of the part with your own model before building.
First wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water so that it is rid of mold release residue; otherwise paint will not hold on it. Cut the casting block off with a fine saw or a new blade, never snap it; sand the remainder and protect your airways while doing so, as resin dust is not to be breathed in. Cement for plastic has no effect on resin, so make the joint with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer before painting and level any step between the resin and the plastic with a thin layer of filler.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
