This resin detail set from the Czech manufacturer Aires replaces the cockpit of a Grumman F8F-1 Bearcat model with a faithfully cast interior in 1:48 scale. It contains a refined cockpit tub, an instrument panel and side consoles. It is an accessory for a kit, not an airplane model in its own right.
The Grumman F8F Bearcat was an American carrier fighter from the end of the Second World War that bet on a combination of small size, low weight and a powerful radial engine. The F8F-1 was the first production variant. On a compact fuselage with a clearly visible cockpit, a detail set stands out especially well.
Before gluing, wash the parts to remove any mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the interior before the fuselage is closed. Sand resin with your airways protected.
This is a resin accessory for experienced modelers, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
