A resin detail set from Aires in 1:48 scale, made to raise the overall fidelity of the plastic kit of the F/A-18A Hornet carrier-based multirole aircraft. It is not an airplane model but a fairly extensive aftermarket accessory that combines cast parts for several areas of the model at once.
The F/A-18A Hornet was a single-seat carrier-based multirole aircraft able to perform both fighter and attack tasks. It was powered by a pair of turbojets and the aircraft was marked by a pair of canted vertical tails. The A version was one of the first production modifications.
Wash the resin parts to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding. Given the extent of the set, work through it in subassemblies, test-fit as you go and spray in thin coats with an airbrush. Bring the details out with a wash.
This is an accessory for a kit. The aircraft model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
