Eduard 1:48 F/A-18E ECS pipes late is a small resin accessory: the pipework of the air conditioning system in the late production form for a Super Hornet model. It is not a kit.

This small resin set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard replaces the pipework of the air conditioning system on a model of the single-seat Super Hornet in 1:48 scale, in the late production configuration. It is a typical detail accessory: a couple of parts that build nothing on their own but are immediately noticeable on a finished model. Resin manages thin walls and a clean circular section, which with injection-molded plastic runs up against the limits of the mold.
On the Super Hornet the external pipework is among the details that change the look of the fuselage according to the production batch. Aircraft of the later batches differ from the early ones in this place, so when building a particular aircraft it is one of the details that both experts and competition judges look at. The set deals with exactly this difference, without your having to bend the pipework laboriously from wire or tubing.
The parts are small, so work with them over a surface and preferably in tweezers with a soft grip. Wash the casting in lukewarm water with detergent, cut the casting block off with a fine saw and level the surface with a sanding sponge. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, ideally the gel kind, which gives a moment to set the position. Apply a primer before painting, blend the pipework in with the base coat of the fuselage and finally bring the mountings out with a fine wash. It pays to check the position dry before you sand the original plastic detail off the model.
