This is a detail accessory, not an aircraft model. The set contains a resin replacement fuel access panel in the closed position in the form used on the early version of the Thunderbolt II. It replaces the corresponding area on the plastic model and brings a more faithful shape and finer surface detail.
The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II is a US ground-attack aircraft built for close support of ground troops and the destruction of equipment. The A-10A was the original single-seat variant; the A-10C is the modernized one with a glass cockpit. The fuel access panel differs in shape between the early and the later aircraft.
Separate the part from the casting block, sand the face and clean it up so that it lines up with the surrounding skin. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue. After filling the seams apply primer and spray the panel together with its surroundings, so that shade and texture carry over.
This is an accessory for plastic models. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
