This accessory is NOT an airplane kit but a resin detail set. It contains a set of finely cast exhaust stacks that replace the parts from the box and sharpen up the look of the engine area of a model of the British Fairey Barracuda in 1:48 scale. The hollowed-out exhaust outlets look more realistic than the plastic originals. According to the name, the set is intended for the Trumpeter kit.
The Fairey Barracuda was a British carrier-borne torpedo and dive bomber of the Fleet Air Arm from the period of the Second World War. Among other actions it took part in the attacks on the German battleship Tirpitz and in the fighting in the Pacific. It was recognizable by its high-set wing and by its racks for bombs and torpedoes.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate the casting blocks and glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the exhausts in shades of burnt metal and bring the transitions out with pigments and rust-colored washes for the effect of thermal stress.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
