Responsibility details are not available.
A figure from Dynamo-Models in 1:48 scale tied to the French naval commandos known after their commander as Commando Kieffer. Scale 1:48 is common with aircraft models and is used for military vehicles as well, so the figure comes into its own in a scene at a coastal building, beside a vehicle and as an accessory to an air base. The manufacturer has also released following numbered items on the subject, from which a larger scene can be put together.
Commando Kieffer is the established name for the 1st Battalion of Naval Fusiliers and Commandos, a unit of the Free French forces led by Philippe Kieffer. During the Second World War the unit was incorporated into the British commando structure and trained according to British practice, including the green beret. On 6 June 1944 its men landed in the Sword sector at Ouistreham as the only French ground unit in the first wave of D-Day and took part in the fighting for the coastal strongpoints. In numbers it was a small formation, but its participation has a special place in the French view of the landings.
British commando patterns of 1944 rest on muted khaki and olive tones with darker accessories. Play the base shade out with shadows into the folds and a light lightening of the edges, and leave the transitions soft. Set small areas such as belts, webbing and footwear apart by shade, not with black - in a small scale black swallows detail. Build the skin in three steps from base through shadow to highlight. Even the result out with matte varnish and dust the lower trouser legs with sand pigment if you are placing the figure in a coastal scene.
