A resin kit for experienced modelers from the Czech maker Brengun. A heavy low-loader road trailer is a rewarding diorama subject: it is an interesting piece of machinery in its own right and at the same time offers a natural link to vehicles and loads in 1:144 scale.
The Culemeyer system low-loader trailers were created in Germany in the 1930s to carry railway wagons on ordinary roads - the wagon ran onto the low loading deck over transfer rails, and the combination, hauled by a heavy tractor, delivered it even to works with no rail siding of their own. During the Second World War the German railways and the army also used these trailers to move armored vehicles and other exceptionally heavy loads. The four-axle version with its many small wheels was among the most widespread forms.
First wash the resin parts in warm soapy water to remove any mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and sand them down - protect your airways while sanding. Join the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Choose the finish according to period photographs; the patina will be helped by a dark wash and dust pigments - a trailer is an ideal candidate for a dusty, work-worn look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
