The Douglas A-1 Skyraider is an American attack aircraft with a piston radial engine, designed for takeoff from the deck of an aircraft carrier. It came into the world at the end of the Second World War, but it found its role only later: it carried a large load under the wings and lasted over a battlefield substantially longer than jet machines, so it proved its worth in the direct support of ground units and in escorting rescue helicopters alike. The A-1H and A-1J versions belong among the late single-seat forms. It flew in Korea and in Vietnam and among modelers it is popular for its sturdy shape and rich armament under the wings.
It is a masking set for a model in 1:48 scale. A mask takes the place of laborious covering with tape: the parts are cut to shape, so the boundary of the color comes out sharp and the same as on the drawing. It saves time mainly on intricate shapes, where tape breaks and lifts. Which areas the set covers and in what order the individual parts are stuck on is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit in 1:48 scale. A model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
