A sheet of markings for a model of the German Fw 190 D-12 fighter aircraft in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fw 190 D is one of the late versions of the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighter aircraft. While the older versions were powered by an air-cooled radial engine, the D series was given the liquid-cooled Jumo 213 twelve-cylinder engine. Because of it and because of the radiator the nose was lengthened, the tail section was extended for balance and the machine acquired a slender silhouette for which the nickname Dora took hold. The D-12 version belongs to the end of this development line.
A sheet of markings for a machine in the D-12 version in 1:48 scale. The extent of the elements, the range of options and the kit the sheet fits are stated in the manufacturer's instructions in the package. The sheet is an accessory to a kit that you obtain separately.
Before applying them, check in the instructions which form you have in hand. With ordinary decals the wet method is used: the element is cut out, immersed in water for a few seconds, slid onto gloss clear coat and settled with a softener. Before you soak the sheet, however, make sure it is not a self-adhesive film or masking elements. A soaked self-adhesive film is irretrievably ruined, whereas a wet decal can be soaked at any time later. The surface under the markings should be smooth and glossy, and once it is dry go over the whole thing with matte varnish.
The sheet will be of use to modelers who want to finish a machine in a scheme other than the one the kit offers, and equally to those whose elements from the box have been damaged or have yellowed with age. The model, paints, glue and varnish are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
