The Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-3 is a German single-seat fighter of the Second World War period. It differed from the contemporary Messerschmitts in its powerplant: instead of a liquid-cooled V12 it carries an air-cooled BMW 801 radial engine, to which it owes its characteristically broad nose. The cockpit sits above the wing and on models it is often left open, so the equipment of the cockpit is then clearly visible.
A set of pre-colored three-dimensional elements for the cockpit of an Fw 190A-3 model in 1:48 scale. The elements are made by 3D printing and are rendered in color, so laborious coloring of tiny dials and placards is no longer needed. The raised relief has real depth, so the instruments and controls do not look like drawing on a flat surface. The carrier of the elements is decal paper, from which they slide off after a short soak. The scope of the set, the placement of the individual elements and the kit the set is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The elements of the QD line from the manufacturer Quinta are applied the wet way. Cut the piece out of the sheet, immerse it for about fifteen seconds in lukewarm water and slide it off the backing paper into place. The element has no adhesive layer of its own; it holds on gloss varnish and on an uneven area a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or setter; they would attack the printed resin. Carry the element with tweezers and press it down, and on a curve work in small sections. While the surface is still damp, the element can still be moved.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
