A set of injection-molded plastic figures in winter equipment from the fighting near Moscow in 1941 in 1:35 scale from Dragon. The set contains four figures on foot of Soviet soldiers in action poses suited to a winter combat scene, supplemented by separate weapons and equipment. The figures are intended to bring dioramas of the Eastern Front to life.
At the turn of autumn and winter 1941 the German advance on Moscow came to a halt because of stiffening Soviet resistance, freezing weather and overstretched supply. At the beginning of December 1941 the Red Army launched a counteroffensive with reinforcements moved from the east of the country. The figures capture soldiers in the typical winter equipment of the time: long greatcoats, sheepskin coats, ushanka hats, gloves and felt boots; the action poses match fighting in snow and ice.
Separate the small parts carefully from the frames and clean up the joints. Apply a primer before painting. Paint the winter clothing in muted shades with a dark wash in the folds and a dry brush on the edges. An effect of snow and frost on the equipment and the boots adds to the conviction of a scene. Place the figures into a winter diorama for the greatest atmosphere.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
