Focke-Wulf Fw 190A control surfaces 1:48 is a resin detail set from Aires for more accurate control surfaces and flaps on the German fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set brings resin control surfaces, typically the rudder, the elevators and the flaps, for the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-series fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory that replaces the flat plastic parts from the kit with faithfully cast surfaces carrying relief on the ribbing and the skin. It also lets you set the surfaces deflected for a livelier look to the model.
The Fw 190 A-series was one of the main German fighters of the Second World War. It was powered by an air-cooled radial engine and the machine stood out for its sturdy structure and heavy armament. A deflected rudder or lowered flaps lend the model the air of a machine parked or under service.
First wash the resin castings in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent to deal with any mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off carefully with a saw or break them off, and sand the surfaces with your airways protected. Bond the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Cut the original surfaces off as the instructions direct and clean up the mating edges carefully. Set the resin surfaces at a slight deflection for realism. Bring out the engraving and the ribbing with a fine wash and tune the painting to the particular scheme.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
