A set of photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the German Fw 190D-9 fighter. Thin metal sheet allows detail that plastic is too coarse for.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fw 190D-9 is a late version of the German Fw 190 fighter that can be told from earlier forms at first glance: the nose is markedly lengthened because of the liquid-cooled engine and the rear fuselage received a plug so the aircraft stayed in balance. The nickname Dora became established for it. It went into action in the final phase of the Second World War and was used mainly for the defense of airspace and to cover airfields.
This is a set of photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale. Photo-etch is made by etching a shape into thin metal sheet, so it can manage features that in injection-molded plastic have to be thicker for production reasons than they were in reality: instrument panels, seat belts, grilles, flaps and small covers. The scope of the parts, their placement on the model and the kit they are intended for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with nippers, which will bend the sheet. Level the bridge left after separation with a fine file. Make the bends along the etched lines, best in a bending tool or between the jaws of flat tweezers, and bend in one movement. Cement for polystyrene will not join metal, so use super glue or epoxy and apply only a minute amount. Before painting, degrease the metal and lay a base coat on it.
The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
