A photo-etched set for working out the interior of the Japanese Mitsubishi G4M bomber, known to the Allies by the code name Betty, in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mitsubishi G4M was a Japanese twin-engine land-based bomber of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service, known to the Allies by the code name Betty. It was powered by a pair of radial engines and in the fighting in the Pacific it was among the most widespread machines of its kind. The long fuselage with its glazed nose and the roomy crew cabin mean that the inside is clearly visible on a finished model, and that is exactly why it pays to work the interior out on it.
It is a photo-etched set for the interior in 1:48 scale. Photo-etch comes into its own wherever a small material thickness and a crisp rendering are needed: instrument panels and their cover panels, seat belts, consoles, handles and small cabin stiffeners. The exact extent of the parts and their placement are given in the instructions enclosed with the set.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not by breaking them out. Make the bends in a bender or between the jaws of flat tweezers, so that the edge stays straight. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a small amount on the tip of a needle. Wash and degrease the surfaces before painting and apply a primer, otherwise the paint rubs off the smooth metal easily.
The set suits modelers who already have experience of working with tweezers and with very small parts. Tweezers with a fine tip and good spot lighting of the work area will make the job markedly easier. It is an accessory for a plastic kit: the model itself, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
