About product

GMC CCKW 353 fuel truck 3D interior 1:48 (Quinta Studio)

This is not a kit but a colored detail accessory. The parts are printed with 3D technology, colored right away and printed on decal (waterslide) paper. The set gives the instrument panel, the levers and the seats of the cab full color and raised relief without your having to spray and mask the interior at length. It is prepared for a particular plastic kit of this tanker in 1:48 scale.

The real subject

The GMC CCKW 353 was an American 2.5-ton 6x6 truck and one of the icons of Allied logistics in the Second World War. A fuel tanker was built on its chassis as well, delivering fuel to units at the front. The long-wheelbase 353 vehicles served across every theater and their supply role was crucial to the Allied advance.

Usage tips

The parts are applied like ordinary decals: cut out, dip for a moment in water and transfer onto a previously clear-coated surface. Do not use decal softeners or setters at all; their chemistry attacks the printed resin and ruins the element. On busier places a thin layer of gloss clear coat helps as an additional adhesive. It is a good idea to sand off the original raised detail on the plastic beforehand.

Who it is for

  • Modelers who want a colored interior without spraying and masking
  • Builders of Allied logistics vehicles and dioramas
  • Those looking for a quick rise in the realism of the cab
  • Beginners and advanced modelers alike with experience of decals

This is a self-contained detail accessory, not a kit. The plastic model, paints and glue are not included in the package.

FAQ

No. It is a colored 3D-printed interior on decal paper, that is, a detail accessory for a particular plastic kit of the GMC CCKW 353 tanker. Specifically it is for the Tamiya kit.

No, the parts are already colored. At most shadows or wear can be fine-tuned.

Like an ordinary decal: cut out, dip and transfer onto a clear-coated surface. Do not use a decal softener or setter at all, as it would attack the printed resin; on busy parts a gloss clear coat helps as an additional adhesive.
