Units often mark flying totals in the tens of thousands of hours with special artwork on one selected machine. Such an aircraft usually flies in the treatment only briefly and photographs of it are rarer than of ordinary machines. For a modeler that is both an advantage and an obligation: the model is unmistakable, but the placement of every element has to be right, because comparison with the real thing is easy.
Before you start, lay the positions of the large elements out dry and mark reference points - best along engraved lines or the edges of panels, not by guessing the distance from the nose. The surface has to be glossy. Place the decal onto a film of water, align it against the reference point and only then blot the water away. Symmetrical elements on both sides of the fuselage are best applied one straight after the other and compared by eye from the front while still wet. Add the softener only at the end, because after it the decal can no longer be moved. Seal the model with a matte or satin varnish.
The decals are supplied on their own. The kit, the paints, the gloss varnish and the softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
